"roanokeydokey (directors glut)": 1st, the only difference between this "directors glut" edit & its predecessor, just plain old "roanokeydokey", is that I added some of Ralph Eaton's footage. Ralph, of Art Rat Studios, shot his own movie of my presentation & uploaded it to here: https://youtu.be/RO44kxDyq-w . Since his version provides the (v)audience perspective lacking from my own 5-camera shoot the addition of Ralph's footage here creates an even more spectacular glut.
I wanted to visit a friend in Tampa, FLA, & decided to go on a short tour to 2 other places where I had friends 1st: Roanoke, VA; Savannah, GA; Tampa. In Savannah I tried to get 4 screening societies interested in sponsoring a screening of 6 short works of mine + a sampler performance. I thought that my being the world's most prolific moviemaker in the entire 127 years of moviemaking history might interest them. None of them replied to my emails. In Tampa, my friends couldn't arrange anything for me for the early time when I expected to arrive there. This left me with Roanoke. Even though it seemed that the venue might not be appropriate for what I wanted to present I checked out movies online of the space & decided that I liked it despite my having to change my plans & despite the unlikelihood of being able to make any money.
The night before it was time for me to drive there I only got 4 hours of sleep. My abundance of instruments & props were so heavy I could barely carry them & fit them in the car. It took me 6.5 hours of driving to get there. I spent 1.5 hours setting up. I played for 24 minutes to a very small vaudience. However, the 'crowd' was intelligent & friendly & I had a good time. I also enjoyed the work of the 2 other performers on the bill: Cookie Tongue & Olchar Lindsann. Despite my being 68 years old & so tired I felt like I was on the verge of collapse, I had a good time & was glad I went to the trouble. Hence, the name of this document is "roanokeydokey" because Roanoke was Okey-Dokey with me. That night I only got 4 hours of sleep again & then I drove home. It took me 7 hours & 10 minutes for the return trip.
People witnessing this short document are encouraged to consider whether you'd like to invite me to come to your town to present. I'm not going to live forever so you'd better support me before it's too late.
